L. I. Against Domestic Violence (LIADV) is a regional pioneer and a source of prevention, support, and healing for abuse victims on Long Island since 1976.

With a mission to break the cycle of violence through education, LIADV offers a wide range of programs and services aimed at assisting and empowering victims. Their comprehensive services include a 24-hour hotline, shelter, advocacy, counseling, legal support, vocational training, financial literacy education, and prevention initiatives. They not only provide assistance to adults but also extend their support to children in need.

LIADV's outreach programs currently touch the lives of over 14,000 individuals annually, making a significant impact in breaking the cycle of violence. With a history of regional firsts, including establishing the first shelter for victims of domestic violence in Suffolk County, creating the Domestic Violence Precinct Outreach Project, and offering services in over 120 languages through their language line, LIADV continues to be at the forefront of supporting victims in their journey towards safety and healing. By providing crucial resources and raising awareness, LIADV strives to combat domestic abuse as a serious crime and a major public health issue, fostering a coordinated community response
