## Description

**Brand Description: LIFE IP CleanEST**

LIFE IP CleanEST is a groundbreaking integrated water management project aimed at enhancing the ecological status of the water bodies in the Ida and Lääne-Virumaa regions of Estonia. Launched in 2019 under the guidance of the Ministry of the Environment, the initiative spans over 240,000 hectares and encompasses approximately 574 kilometers of flowing water bodies. Over its ten-year duration, the project focuses on both established water management strategies and innovative solutions, including remote monitoring systems and ecosystem service mapping.

LIFE IP CleanEST addresses both diffuse and point-source pollution while considering ecological status and pressures such as hydrological obstacles. The project aims to clean up significant water bodies and restore essential ecosystem services, aligning with broader conservation and restoration goals. Funded by the European Commission's LIFE program and the Estonian government, it actively engages with local communities, partners, and stakeholders to foster a collaborative approach to environmental stewardship and sustainability.
