## Description

LIFE FOREST CO2 is an innovative project focused on addressing climate change through sustainable forest management practices. Funded by the European Union's LIFE Programme, the initiative operates primarily in the LULUCF (Land Use, Land-Use Change, and Forestry) sector, particularly in managed forests comprised of Pinus halepensis and Pinus pinaster species. By measuring and enhancing carbon sinks, LIFE FOREST CO2 provides critical tools for carbon offset systems which help mitigate the impacts of climate change.

The project emphasizes collaboration with forest owners and various organizations to promote sustainable forestry as a vital method of climate action. LIFE FOREST CO2 has achieved notable outcomes, including transferring its methodologies to related projects and forming partnerships with entities like the natural stone company Levantina to improve sustainability in the mining sector. Through its comprehensive approach, LIFE FOREST CO2 not only advocates for environmental stewardship but also creates tangible benefits for local communities involved in forest management.
