## Description

Light Disability Services is an Australian not-for-profit organisation and registered charity providing support to people living with disability and mental illness. As a registered National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) provider, it works with individuals, families and carers to help participants pursue their goals and live as independently as possible. The organisation’s grassroots-founded team draws on experience and understanding of service users’ needs and aspirations.

Its services include support coordination, supported independent living, social and community participation, transport, in-home and domestic assistance, and community nursing for Department of Veterans’ Affairs clients. Support is tailored through a person-centred approach and a key worker model, with participants’ preferences, decisions and goals at the heart of service planning.

Light Disability Services aims to build on people’s existing strengths, support skill development and create opportunities for meaningful community involvement. Its approach emphasises self-determination, human rights and social inclusion, helping participants take an active role in decisions that affect their lives.
