## Description

The American Lighthouse Foundation (ALF) is a dedicated 501c3 non-profit organization committed to the preservation and celebration of historic lighthouses across the United States. Founded in 1994, ALF works tirelessly to maintain these iconic structures and promote their rich heritage through various programs and initiatives. The foundation offers a range of services, including lighthouse tours that allow visitors to experience these remarkable sites firsthand and educational programs that foster an understanding of lighthouse history and significance. ALF also engages in storm and mitigation work to protect lighthouses from environmental threats while promoting public access to these treasures. The organization hosts events like Maine Open Lighthouse Day, encouraging community involvement and awareness. Supporters can contribute through donations, become members, or shop online for lighthouse-themed merchandise. By choosing to preserve America's lighthouses, the American Lighthouse Foundation believes they are worth keeping for future generations to enjoy. Engage with us to support our mission and discover the beauty of these coastal beacons.
