## Description

Lightning AI is an AI cloud platform created by the team behind PyTorch Lightning. Its focus is helping users build, train, and deploy their own AI models, rather than relying on rented models. The platform provides access to more than 36,000 NVIDIA GPUs, offering computing resources for model development and deployment. Lightning AI brings these activities together in a cloud environment, supporting users as they work across the AI model lifecycle. Its stated approach emphasizes ownership: customers can use the platform to develop and run models of their own. The service is aimed at people and teams seeking infrastructure for AI work, from building models through training them and putting them into deployment. By combining these capabilities with access to a large GPU fleet, Lightning AI presents itself as a resource for carrying out AI development in the cloud. The company builds on its creators’ experience with PyTorch Lightning and centers its offering on practical infrastructure for users who want to create and operate their own AI models.
