## Description

The Lima Shawnee Alumni-Legacy Scholarship Fund is a community-supported organization created by Shawnee graduates to help current Shawnee High School graduates pursue higher education and build a lasting connection between alumni and future generations. Guided by the belief that an educated society is essential to a healthy society, the Fund seeks to expand educational opportunities and recognize students who demonstrate excellence, integrity, responsibility, and respect.

Its central offering is scholarships, including Legacy Scholarships for a range of study areas and Named Scholarships shaped by donor-defined criteria approved by the Advisory Board. Students apply, and recipients are selected by a volunteer committee of Fund board members and representatives of Shawnee Local Schools. In May 2026, the Fund awarded scholarships to 23 graduating seniors.

The organization also educates alumni, students, and the wider community about supporting Shawnee graduates, raises and prudently manages contributions, and oversees the scholarship award process. Alumni from all graduating classes and community members are invited to contribute.
