The Lincoln West Optimist Club is a prominent brand and one of the largest clubs in the Nebraska District. As a part of Optimist International, they have been dedicated to Bringing out the Best in Kids since 1919. With around 90,000 members worldwide, they conduct nearly 65,000 service projects annually, benefiting close to six million young people.

Locally, the Lincoln West Optimist Club actively supports the Star City Optimist Youth Foundation, which operates the Optimist Sports Complex near Highway 77. They are strong proponents of Foundation programs like Homer's Heroes Baseball, Pitch, Hit and Run, Punt, Pass and Kick, and Fun Day in the Park. In addition, the club organizes events such as a summer picnic for Big Brothers Big Sisters, a holiday party for youth from the Lighthouse, and a movie screening for foster families.

To further their impact, the club participates in various district-sponsored contests, including Essay and Oratorical contests, as well as the Communication Contest for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing. Their commitment to the community extends beyond service projects, as they also contribute approximately $78 million to their communities annually.
