About
Description
Lindau Nobel Laureate Meetings, founded in 1951, is a renowned brand that has grown into a distinguished international scientific forum. With a mission to educate, inspire, and connect, these annual Meetings foster exchange between generations, cultures, and disciplines. Each year, around 30-40 Nobel Laureates gather in Lindau to meet the next generation of brilliant scientists, including undergraduate, PhD, and post-doc researchers from all corners of the globe.
Initiated by physicians Franz Karl Hein and Gustav Wilhelm Parade, in collaboration with Count Lennart Bernadotte af Wisborg, the Meetings have seen the participation of over 35,000 students, PhD candidates, and post-docs. While their experience at the Meetings is truly once-in-a-lifetime, participants join the esteemed Lindau Alumni Network, becoming lifelong ambassadors for scientific dialogue. The theme of the Meetings alternates between the three Nobel Prize scientific disciplines: Physics, Chemistry, and Physiology/Medicine.
Additionally, interdisciplinary Meetings occur every five years, and a Meeting on Economic Sciences is held every three years. The Lindau Meetings offer a diverse range of scientific programs, including captivating lectures, engaging discussions, and more. These formats are carefully designed to facilitate meaningful dialogue, encouraging collaboration and the sharing of groundbreaking ideas
