Linux Australia is the peak body for Open Source communities in Australia, representing approximately 5000 users and developers of Free Software and Open Technologies. They are committed to operating in an open, transparent, and democratic manner, guided by their statement of values and articles of association. Linux Australia organizes linux.conf.au, one of the most renowned Free and Open Source Software Conferences in Australasia, held in a different city each year. They also assist with the organization of other open source conferences. Membership in Linux Australia provides individuals with opportunities to engage in online discussions, participate in sub-committees and special interest groups, and connect with local Linux User Groups. They also offer a Jobs Board for those interested in exploring Linux and open source job opportunities in Australia and New Zealand.
