## Description

LITAB, the Italian Crossbow Shooting League, is an association founded in 1986 by crossbow companies from Assisi, Pisa and Terra del Sole. It promotes knowledge of Italy’s historic crossbow traditions through national competitions, public events, conferences, historical studies and the exchange of information. The league brings together member companies from towns and cities across Italy, supporting both banco, or bench crossbow, and manesca, or handheld crossbow, disciplines. Its activities include the Italian championship and tournaments, alongside events that may feature traditional civilian dress. LITAB also helps participants and visitors discover the history, local customs and distinct character of the communities represented by its member groups. The organisation presents crossbow heritage as part of Italy’s civic history, recalling the role of crossbows in defending city freedoms. Recognised by the Italian National Olympic Committee as a sports promotion body, LITAB provides competition regulations and information about its member companies, events and history.
