Literacy Center of West Michigan is a brand dedicated to bringing about a just and vibrant West Michigan through the power of literacy. Since its founding in 1986, the organization has been working alongside community members to improve their reading and language skills. Their mission is deeply rooted in the belief that West Michigan can only thrive when all community members have access to literacy.

The Literacy Center of West Michigan offers a variety of literacy programs for adults who read below a 9th grade level and/or who don't speak English as their first language. These programs are made possible through the commitment of volunteer tutors and the generous financial support of donors and partners. With over 40 employers and organizations already engaged with their services, the Literacy Center of West Michigan plays a crucial role in the community.

In the last year alone, 764 learners have gone through their programs, supported by 300 dedicated volunteer tutors.
