## Description

The International Literature Festival Berlin (ilb) is one of the most prestigious literary festivals globally, celebrated annually in September. Since its inception over 20 years ago, the festival has brought together more than 100 international authors for book premieres, readings, and panel discussions, attracting around 20,000 literature enthusiasts each year. A key highlight is the Curator in Residence program, commenced in 2024, which features a prominent writer who collaborates with the ilb team to curate segments of the festival and define its thematic focus. The festival showcases a diverse array of literary forms including prose, poetry, nonfiction, graphic novels, and children's literature. It presents high-profile discussions on contemporary social and political issues, furthering its mission of cultural exchange and dialogue. The ilb’s 'Young Program' offers interactive reading and workshop experiences for children and young adults, promoting literacy and intercultural understanding. With notable past guests like Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie and Salman Rushdie, the ilb remains a cornerstone of the Berlin literary scene and an essential platform for literary voices worldwide.
