## Description

Litteraturens Hus is an initiative to create a permanent literary gathering place in central Aarhus, Denmark. Responding to growing interest in literature and a need for greater visibility and shared space, it aims to strengthen the city’s literary communities and help establish Aarhus as a leading literary city. The house is intended for people interested in literature of all ages, bringing together emerging talents, established authors, publishers, associations and readers.

Its planned activities and facilities include a stage for readings, talks and other literary events, alongside spaces for teaching, creative development, networking and talent programmes. The project also envisages facilities for small publishers, bookbinders, radio stations and newspapers, as well as a general bookshop, a children’s bookshop and a second-hand bookshop. A café serving organic food and a few rooms for visiting speakers, guest writers and instructors are also part of the vision. Through these varied offerings, Litteraturens Hus seeks to support literary creation, learning and exchange, while making literature more visible in Aarhus and beyond.
