## Description

LitVM is Litecoin’s Virtual Machine, a project building a programmable Web3 application layer for the Litecoin ecosystem. Its goal is to extend Litecoin beyond payments by enabling smart contracts and decentralized applications while connecting Litecoin and Litecoin-native assets through BitcoinOS zero-knowledge technology. Built with Arbitrum Orbit and BitcoinOS, LitVM combines EVM-compatible tools with Litecoin-focused infrastructure, and its LiteForge testnet is available for exploration.

The project aims to create new uses and demand for LTC, support yield opportunities, and encourage a cross-chain, utility-driven ecosystem. Its stated areas of focus include DeFi and yield markets, tokenized real-world assets such as real estate, gold, and silver, and AI-powered applications and agents. LitVM also targets Litecoin-native assets, including Ordinals, Runes, LTC-20s, and Charms, with the aim of supporting on-chain activity and a broader Web3 app ecosystem.

LitVM provides resources such as a testnet hub, documentation, a litepaper, and a builders program. Its proposed community-oriented tokenomics reserve 51% of token supply for the community.
