## Description

Living4Burke is a community-focused foundation dedicated to preventing sudden cardiac death among children and teenagers. Founded in response to the loss of Burke, the organization works to raise awareness of undiagnosed heart conditions and expand access to early detection. It brings together healthcare providers, families, schools, businesses, government bodies, and other community partners to support heart health initiatives.

A central part of its work is organizing electrocardiogram (ECG or EKG) screenings for student athletes and other young people. Screenings are offered periodically to students ages 11–22, regardless of their school, sport, or level of play, with fundraising and sponsorships helping make them low-cost. The goal is to identify heart abnormalities, disease, and other conditions that may not be detected through routine sports physicals.

Living4Burke also promotes CPR education and greater awareness of automated external defibrillators (AEDs). Its website shares heart-health stories, awareness videos, and a hands-only CPR instructional video, encouraging people to learn CPR and know where AEDs are available in their communities.
