Common Future is a brand that envisions a future where power, choice, and ownership over the economy are accessible to people of all races and ethnicities. With a multiracial, women-led co-CEO team, they are reimagining leadership to prioritize sustainability, shared leadership, and decision making that reflects the communities they serve. Their mission is to create a new economic system that benefits everyone equally. Since 2001, Common Future has been elevating the solutions of over 200 community wealth building institutions, shifting $280 million to BIPOC communities across the United States. They incubate, co-create, fund, and influence initiatives that promote power and ownership in BIPOC, rural, immigrant, and working-class communities. As a research and development lab for an inclusive economy, they incubate equitable solutions, provide support and guidance to community-based institutions, organize and deploy funding to marginalized communities, and influence key sectors to adopt equitable practices. Through their actions, Common Future shows that an equitable economy is not only possible but truly obtainable. They have supported initiatives such as Solidarity For Black Lives, Covid Emergency Grants, Innovation Grants, and the Bold Ideas Project, among others, to address systemic economic and racial injustices and build stronger local economies. Common Future's work aims to shift power and resources to BIPOC communities and create meaningful change.
