## Description

Liz Sutter is a Zürich-based author whose website brings together her writing and research on history and Indigenous North American lives. The site features texts, books and an album, including material connected with her book about Blackfoot figure Buffalo Child Long Lance. Sutter’s research also led her to Sioux leader Chauncey Yellow Robe, a relative of Sitting Bull. In “Fräulein Sprenger und der Häuptling: Was Neftenbach mit Sitting Bull verbindet,” she explores the lives of Long Lance, Yellow Robe and Sitting Bull, placing them within changing US policies toward Native peoples from the nineteenth into the twentieth century. The article discusses persecution, forced assimilation and the enduring mythology surrounding celebrated chiefs. Through historical storytelling and research, Sutter’s work connects individual biographies with broader historical events. Her site offers readers access to her writing and information about her books, alongside a way to contact her by email and follow her on Instagram.
