## Description

The New Zealand Llama Association (NZLA) is a community for people who share an interest in llamas. It connects owners and enthusiasts across New Zealand, offering a place to exchange information, seek advice and support one another in promoting llama well-being. The association aims to educate owners and the public about llama needs, care and welfare, and to promote llamas as working and companion animals and pets. It also encourages enjoyable activities with llamas and provides a forum for sharing relevant news, ideas and knowledge.

The NZLA represents its members in discussions with government and other authorities on matters relating to llama ownership, care and use. It works with other camelid organisations where appropriate, encourages adherence to a code of conduct for llama ownership, and maintains a registry to collect information about llamas in New Zealand and register individual animals. People can learn about membership and join the association through its website. The site also shares association news, including the Llama Glama newsletter, and provides contact information for enquiries.
