## Description

LocalAI is an open-source AI engine designed to run a wide range of models on everyday hardware, from laptops and CPUs to GPU-powered systems and distributed clusters. Released under the MIT license, it provides a unified runtime and an OpenAI-compatible API, alongside support for Anthropic, Ollama and ElevenLabs APIs, helping developers connect existing tools with minimal changes. Its modular backends can run models through engines including llama.cpp, vLLM, SGLang and MLX.

The platform supports language models, agents, tool calling, retrieval-augmented generation, transcription, voice synthesis, image and video generation, music, vision, sound recognition and 3D workloads.
