## Description

Logan Collections, Inc. presents original artwork by artist Logan MacKethan, whose practice centers on paintings made with oil and acrylic on canvas. The work explores the effects of nature and the power of creation, with an aim to create a positive space for viewers. Landscapes feature open skies and loose, expressive brushstrokes that reflect emotional release. MacKethan’s years of photography inform the compositions and color palettes, and the artist typically imagines a completed piece before beginning to paint. A recurring feature of the process is finding an image within an image, where a small detail or thumbnail may develop into an artwork of its own. The paintings invite viewers to step away from the mundane and notice fleeting moments that might otherwise go unseen. The website features information about the artist, exhibitions, available works, portraits, and sold pieces, and welcomes inquiries about the art. A painting was selected and featured in the Hulu and Netflix documentary Dopesick, based on journalist Beth Macy’s book.
