## Description

London & Valley Water is an organisation proposing a privately funded restructuring and turnaround plan for Thames Water, which serves 16 million customers. Its stated aim is to improve water services, repair ageing infrastructure and deliver cleaner rivers for future generations. The plan promises £10 billion in new private investment and the write-off of billions in debt, with no cost to government or taxpayers. It focuses on repairing broken pipes, reducing disruption, and making water infrastructure more resilient to population growth and climate change.

London & Valley Water says profits will be reinvested in Thames Water and its assets. Investors would not receive dividends while the company is in the regulatory turnaround regime, or until it returns to public markets, if sooner. The proposal also sets out a path to meet environmental commitments, while stating that fines incurred by previous owners will be paid and that no immunity from regulatory enforcement is sought.
