## Description

The Longfei Taijiquan Association of Great Britain is a traditional Tai Chi organisation founded in 1991 by Richard Watson, at the invitation and with the encouragement of Master Li Tianji and Professor Li Deyin. Based in Hertfordshire, the association has teachers across Great Britain and internationally. It presents Taijiquan as both a martial art and a practice for health and personal development, drawing on traditions connected with Chinese medicine, Taoist philosophy, breathing, meditation and movement.

The association offers tuition for learners across the age spectrum, with training intended to support progression from beginner level to advanced study. Students can take part in weekend courses and seminars held throughout the year, and private lessons can be arranged by appointment. Learning resources include information texts, videos and books. The association’s website also provides a syllabus, assessment guidance, articles, newsletters and details of upcoming events. Its teaching encompasses the art’s health and movement practices as well as its martial application, including self-defence.
