## Description

Los Bárbaros is a literary magazine and publishing project founded in New York by Peruvian writer and communications graduate Ulises Gonzales. It brings together writing connected to New York and literature in Spanish, featuring authors from Latin America, Spain, and elsewhere. Its numbered editions explore specific themes and forms, including theater, translation, gender and LGBTQ+ writing, food, and love and relationships. The double issue 18/19, for example, honors Federico García Lorca and reimagines Poeta en Nueva York through work by 24 authors from Spain and Latin America.

Los Bárbaros offers its publications in print and as e-books, with titles available through online platforms and bookstores. The project also shares literary conversations, interviews, videos, and event presentations, giving readers opportunities to hear directly from contributors and discuss their work. Its activities include online conversations with writers and participation in literary events such as the Lima International Book Fair. With a focus on diverse voices and contemporary writing, Los Bárbaros connects readers and authors across the United States, Europe, and Latin America.
