## Description

Lost Planet 3 is an action game set on the harsh, ice-covered planet E.D.N. III, expanding the universe of the Lost Planet series. Players follow Jim Peyton, a rig pilot who accepts a hazardous contract with Neo-Venus Construction (NEVEC), a company preparing the planet for colonisation. Based at Coronis, Jim surveys uncharted terrain and searches for Thermal Energy, a resource vital to the mission as NEVEC’s reserves run low. His work also offers the promise of a substantial payoff and a return to his family.

The game combines on-foot combat with intense first-person sequences inside Jim’s utility rig. The rig serves as mobile shelter and protection from hostile Akrid and unpredictable ice storms, while its tools—including a winch—help players confront threats and navigate the environment. Enemy encounters include formidable Akrid, such as the Carrier, which can unleash smaller defenders and attack with its powerful front legs. Lost Planet 3 offers a single-player story and multiple multiplayer modes, and was listed for PC, Xbox 360, and PlayStation 3.
