## Description

Founded in Paris in 2015, Louison Editions is an independent publishing house focused on modern Russian literature. Its mission is to bring readers free-spirited writers and distinctive works of literary quality, each offering a particular vision of the world. The publisher presents literature in the context of the pressures and uncertainties faced by writers in Russia, where artistic independence can carry significant personal risks.

Louison Editions publishes books by a range of authors and offers readers information about its writers and the contributors who provide prefaces. Its catalogue includes literary works and biographies, such as Alexeï Varlamov’s extensively researched biography of Mikhail Bulgakov, which follows the writer’s life from his childhood in Kyiv and medical career to his literary success and posthumous recognition. Other listed titles include books on Anton Chekhov, Fassbinder and Lolita. The website also provides details about available books, authors, the wider collection and the publisher’s contacts. Louison Editions is distributed by Interforum and invites readers to subscribe to its newsletter.
