## Description

Leidse Onderwatersport Vereniging (LOV) Calypso is a welcoming underwater sports club based at De Zijl swimming pool in Leiden. Founded in 1963, it is one of the Netherlands’ oldest diving clubs and has around 120 members. Diving and underwater hockey are at the heart of the club, alongside a strong emphasis on friendship and social activities; members and their non-diving partners are welcome to join in.

LOV Calypso offers full SDI Open Water diver training, specialist courses and skills practice, introductory dives, refresher training, and referral courses that allow participants to complete their dives at a holiday destination. It also provides snorkelling activities and training, medical checks, and First Response preparation. Underwater hockey training is open to people of different ages, with opportunities to take part in weekend competitions.

Regular pool sessions include instruction, introductions, specialist practice, and independent training. Members can also use the club’s air compressor for free cylinder fills on Wednesday evenings.
