## Description

Friends of the Arthur R. Marshall Loxahatchee National Wildlife Refuge is the first Friends organization of its kind in the United States. They are dedicated to protecting the future of the Everglades in Palm Beach County, specifically the extraordinary 145,188 acres of the Arthur R. Marshall Loxahatchee National Wildlife Refuge. Located in Boynton Beach, FL, this hidden gem offers a range of recreational activities for nature enthusiasts. Whether you enjoy hiking, biking, fishing, canoeing, or kayaking, the refuge provides ample opportunities to explore miles of waterways and trails within its protected space. Endangered species like the snail kite and wood stork, as well as the previously endangered American alligator, call this refuge home. In addition to promoting outdoor activities, Friends of the Arthur R. Marshall Loxahatchee National Wildlife Refuge encourages community involvement to support their environmental conservation and biodiversity mission. You can become a member, volunteer at the refuge or in their Nature Store, or join one of their committees. By joining the Friends, you'll play an active role in protecting South Florida's natural wildlife habitat and open spaces. They are dedicated advocates for Everglades restoration and environmental conservation, working to preserve the once vast Northern Everglades. Don't miss the opportunity to explore this magical place and contribute to its preservation.
