About
Description
Little River Wetlands Project (LRWP) is a nonprofit land trust dedicated to the restoration and preservation of wetlands in the watershed of the Little River, a tributary of the Wabash River. LRWP protects over 1,300 acres of wetlands in the Little River watershed, including Eagle Marsh, Arrowhead Marsh, Arrowhead Prairie, and Buttonbush Bottoms. LRWP also co-owns Little River Landing with ACRES Land Trust.
Their mission is not only to preserve and protect wetlands but also to provide educational opportunities that promote good stewardship of wetlands and other natural ecosystems. LRWP offers a variety of programs and events to engage the community and raise awareness about wetland conservation. Visitors are welcome to explore the preserves from dawn to dusk, 365 days a year, free of charge.
However, certain areas may have restricted access during public programming. To ensure the preservation of wildlife and the natural environment, visitors are asked to follow trail regulations and refrain from bringing in or removing plants and animals
