## Description

Laois Traveller Action Group (LTAG) is a community development project established in 1996 to represent, promote, support and empower the Traveller community across County Laois. Its work focuses on equality, improved living conditions and health, and recognition of Traveller culture and ethnicity. LTAG offers programmes and group activities designed to encourage participation, build connections and provide practical support. Services include a primary healthcare programme, support from a public health nurse, community development initiatives, information and support on accommodation, and Traveller education support. The group also facilitates Men’s Sheds, women’s groups, men’s groups and a Traveller Youth Advisory Group to Tusla. LTAG works with community members and other Traveller support organisations to share information, raise awareness and create opportunities for engagement. Its activities include events, family days, trips and arts initiatives, alongside news and updates about local programmes. The website also shares information about a safe, confidential crisis support line operated by the National Traveller Mental Health Network for people seeking support or information about their own mood or that of someone they know.
