## Description

Lucky Hens Rescue is a volunteer-run, not-for-profit organisation and animal sanctuary based in Wigan, Lancashire, UK. Its mission is to rescue hens from the commercial egg production sector and rehome them with suitable adopters, where they can live out their lives in a natural environment. People interested in adopting can complete a hen adoption form and join the waiting list for an upcoming rescue day. The organisation also provides hen adoption FAQs and information about hen health and wellbeing.

Beyond rehoming, Lucky Hens Rescue works to educate the public about the egg industry and encourage more considered food choices. It also raises awareness of egg-hatching projects and what happens to chicks when they are returned to the hatching company. Supporters can help through donations, which fund the rescue mission, and can keep in touch through the organisation’s mailing list, news, videos and social media. Lucky Hens has reported saving 43,020 hens.
