## Description

Nico Dayet Luthier is an independent instrument-making workshop in Montferrat, France, led by luthier Nico Dayet-David. Working under the STEPINHUT name, he combines modern, creative craftsmanship with respect for traditional instrument-making. Drawing on decades of experience, he builds original instruments, each designed as a unique creation rather than an exact repeat.

The workshop makes acoustic guitars, acoustic and electric basses, and a broad range of other instruments. These include classical guitars, mandoles, bouzoukis, ukuleles, guitalélés, ouds, barbitons, double basses and selected percussion instruments. Instruments can be developed in collaboration with musicians, with attention to sound balance, intonation, tonal character, reliability and careful finishing. Acoustic guitars are designed for versatility, while acoustic basses are available in fretted or fretless forms, with four, five or six strings. Electric instruments may be built with different neck constructions and fitted with a range of pickups and preamps. Nico Dayet’s work supports both personal projects and commissioned instruments, helping musicians find tools suited to their musical expression.
