## Description

Landschaftsverband Westfalen-Lippe (LWL) is an association of municipalities in the region of Westphalia-Lippe that takes on tasks that individual municipalities cannot effectively handle on their own. With a range of approximately 200 facilities, including special schools, hospitals, museums, and visitor centers, the LWL offers care, support, specialized knowledge, and advice to the 8.3 million citizens of Westphalia-Lippe. Through its collaboration with municipalities, districts, and cities, the LWL represents and advocates for the region at state and federal levels. The LWL operates under various areas of responsibility, such as social affairs, psychiatric care, forensic commitment, youth and schools, culture, and politics. By promoting equal living conditions and meeting high-quality standards, the LWL strengthens Westphalia-Lippe as a whole. With a budget of almost 8 billion euros, the LWL invests in various sectors, including day-care, hospitals, housing associations, and youth centers, ensuring the provision of essential services to the region.
