## Description

Lincolnway Special Recreation Association (LWSRA) provides adaptive recreation and leisure services for people with physical or intellectual disabilities, serving participants from age two and up. Established in 1976, the association aims to build a community without limits while promoting disability awareness. It operates through a cooperative agreement with eight member park districts and serves individuals and families in the community.

LWSRA offers adapted programs and inclusion services for young children, youth, teens, and adults, including after-school care, recreation clubs, individual lessons, adaptive sports, social activities, and special events. It also provides access to Special Olympics through its Center of Excellence, along with financial assistance options for eligible participants. Families can explore program guides, register online, and manage household and required medical information through the CommunityPass platform.

Beyond participant programs, LWSRA offers facility rentals at the Lincolnway Special Recreation Center, community events, educational outreach, school collaborations, and opportunities for volunteers and sponsors to support its work.
