## Description

Maak Contemporary Ceramics is a market-leading Auction House and art consultancy that specializes in Contemporary Ceramics and Craft. Founded in 2009 by Marijke Varrall-Jones, Maak has dedicated itself to presenting the highest levels of Contemporary Ceramics to international audiences. With a focus on long-term sustainable growth, Maak has played an instrumental role in raising global interest in Studio Pottery and Contemporary Ceramic Art. Maak's team of specialists brings years of experience and extensive connections to offer personalized services to private collectors and public institutions. They handle individual consignments and important single-owner collections, providing comprehensive services for both auction and private sales. Maak regularly curates auctions featuring a broad selection of ceramic artists, from early Anglo-Oriental traditionalists to contemporary artists. While British Studio Ceramics are a particular emphasis, Maak also offers Japanese, European, and American ceramics. In addition to auctions, Maak expanded in 2023 to include Contemporary Craft, creating an environment where a secondary market for Craft can flourish. They now hold an annual auction dedicated to Craft, featuring international makers working with wood, metal, glass, textiles, basketry, lacquer, and jewelry. Maak has become known for its auction viewing exhibitions, providing collectors and enthusiasts of studio ceramics with rare opportunities to see significant collections featuring works by the leading names in British and International Studio Ceramics. With its commitment to excellence and expertise, Maak is the premier destination for those seeking to explore and invest in the world of Contemporary Ceramics and Craft.
