## Description

MaasSAC, short for Maastrichtse Studenten Alpen Club, is Maastricht’s student climbing association, bringing together more than 100 members who enjoy climbing, hiking and student life. Founded in 1984, the club welcomes people interested in bouldering, rock climbing and alpinism, from beginners to experienced climbers.

Members can take part in weekly bouldering, climbing sessions and social gatherings, with free weekly entry to partner gyms. MaasSAC also organises trips to climbing destinations in Belgium, France and Germany, including the boulders of Fontainebleau and the sea cliffs of the Calanques. Its courses provide a learning pathway from basic top-rope skills to leading multipitch climbs, helping members build their abilities and confidence.

The club hosts events and competitions, including open bouldering competitions and student lead-climbing events, and is supported by sponsors while welcoming new partnerships. Prospective members can learn about membership requirements, tryout sessions and sign-up opportunities through the club. MaasSAC offers students a community for developing their climbing skills, exploring outdoor environments and sharing adventures.
