## Description

Magic Theatre, established in 1967 in San Francisco, has been a pivotal force in American theatre for nearly six decades. Founded by Berkeley graduate students amid a vibrant artistic scene, it has played a significant role in shaping contemporary drama, championing new plays, and nurturing writers such as Michael McClure and Sam Shepard. Committed to artistic innovation, Magic Theatre believes in providing a platform where diverse voices can experiment and take creative risks.

Under the recent appointment of a new Executive Leadership Team, including Artistic Director Sarah Nina Hayon and Producing Director Daniel Duque-Estrada, the theatre is positioned to enhance its legacy as a hub for groundbreaking work. The organization emphasizes inclusivity, centering the experiences of Indigenous, Black, and people of color within its offerings. With ongoing projects that include collaborations with resident companies and various premieres, Magic Theatre remains dedicated to expanding its cultural impact in the Bay Area and beyond, solidifying its status as a vital hub for artistic expression.
