## Description

Magnifest is a long-running cultural festival held in Braunschweig’s historic Magniviertel, a district known for its half-timbered houses and narrow streets. A fixture in the city’s cultural calendar for more than 50 years, the event brings together music, food, local businesses, artists and community activities. The 2026 festival is scheduled for 4–6 September, with performances planned across five stages and additional activity areas. Its program features live music and a range of culinary stands, while participation opportunities invite bands, artists and stallholders to contribute. Admission is free; the event is funded largely by stallholders, sponsorships and public grants. Visitors can also support the festival by purchasing a €9.90 wristband, which includes a booklet of vouchers for local offers. The planned children’s festival will not take place in 2026 because construction work has made the previous site and safe access route unavailable. The main festival, including its music program and food offering, is still scheduled to go ahead.
