## Description

Maibaumfreunde Nordheim e.V. is a community association in Nordheim, Germany, dedicated to preserving local traditions and bringing residents together through seasonal celebrations and social activities. The group began in 1990, when local enthusiasts proposed erecting a maypole; the first tree was raised in 1991. The association was formally established in 1995, and the maypole moved to the town hall forecourt in 2003. Traditionally decorated with 28 guild symbols, it is the centrepiece of the annual Maibaum celebration, which has included a two-day festival with music. In Advent, the association also erects a light tree adorned with 1,000 lights and organized Nordheim’s Christmas village for 15 years.

Beyond these traditions, Maibaumfreunde Nordheim arranges activities for members throughout the year, including walks, outings, winter gatherings, a Weißwurst breakfast, visits to the Wasen, and a roast-pig meal. Its website shares association news, event information, and photo galleries. Planned events include a Maibaum Hocketse, an excursion to Oberstdorf for the Viehscheid, and a winter walk.
