## Description

Maimonides Medical Center is a Brooklyn-based healthcare institution offering residency and fellowship education for physicians preparing for a lifetime of quality practice. Its graduate medical education programs combine hands-on clinical training with seminars and teaching conferences, giving residents progressively greater responsibility for patient care as they build their knowledge and skills. Programs are guided by the ACGME core competencies, including patient care, medical knowledge, communication, professionalism, and practice-based learning.

Maimonides serves a diverse patient population and provides exposure to a broad range of common and uncommon conditions. Its educational community includes faculty, residents, and fellows across multiple specialties, with opportunities to contribute to patient care and medical student education. The institution also emphasizes physician well-being, supporting residents through wellness committees, peer support, scheduling tools, and programming focused on resilience, diversity, and work-life needs. Maimonides describes its approach as responsive to changes in medical education while maintaining a high-quality learning environment. Graduates have continued their training and careers at leading hospitals, universities, and healthcare organizations across the United States.
