## Description

The Major Taylor Cycling Club Chicago (MTC3), established in 2008, is dedicated to promoting health through recreational and social cycling activities. Named after Marshall “Major” Taylor, the first African-American world champion in cycling, this inclusive club welcomes members of all races, skill levels, and ages. MTC3 offers a diverse range of rides throughout Chicago and Northwest Indiana, accommodating cyclists from beginners to competitive riders.

Members can participate in over 20 organized rides each month, ranging from leisurely 10-mile trips to challenging 100-mile adventures, all categorized by distance and difficulty. The club emphasizes safety and enjoyment, with experienced ride leaders guiding participants and providing support. In addition to cycling events, MTC3 fosters community through social activities, training clinics, and volunteering opportunities. Membership benefits include discounted apparel, ride insurance, and access to informative communications about cycling. By joining MTC3, cyclists can explore scenic routes while fostering fitness, fellowship, and fun.
