## Description

MAKAI Paddlers Society is a community paddling club based on the NSW South Coast, founded in 2009. With more than 80 competitive, junior and social members, the club brings together people who enjoy ocean ski, surf ski, outrigger canoe and paddleboarding. Members meet for regular training, friendly competition and social events, paddling at Burrill Lake and heading offshore and downwind from Ulladulla Harbour throughout the year. The club welcomes prospective members who have their own kayak, surf ski or outrigger canoe and value its family-oriented “ohana” culture, including taking part in social activities and volunteering.

The society’s flagship event is the MAKAI Cup, an approximately 22-kilometre open-ocean race held annually on the second weekend of February. It attracts paddlers from across the country to race on the South Coast. The club also hosts Mini MAKAI 10 and other paddling events, and supports junior participation and development. MAKAI Paddlers shares club news, event information, photos and videos, and offers membership and renewal options.
