## Description

Microsoft MakeCode is a free online learning platform that makes computer science accessible through fun, hands-on projects. Designed for learners at different skill levels, it helps users build coding skills at their own pace, starting with approachable block-based programming and progressing to JavaScript or Python. The platform offers tools and activities for creating retro-style arcade games, programming the pocket-sized micro:bit, and making code modifications in Minecraft Education. Its editors include step-by-step tutorials, skill maps, challenges, and libraries of blocks and extensions to support exploration and learning.

MakeCode also connects coding with physical projects. Users can run their programs on compatible hardware, including devices such as Adafruit Circuit Playground Express, LEGO MINDSTORMS Education EV3, Chibi Chip, and the Cue robot. These projects introduce ideas in electronics, robotics, and creative problem-solving. For home and classroom use, MakeCode provides lessons, tutorials, and curriculum resources that help students explore computing through personally meaningful activities. Learners can experiment, see immediate results, and develop their skills by building games, programming devices, and sharing their creativity.
