## Description

The Makeup Museum is an institution dedicated to preserving and presenting the artifacts and stories of the beauty industry. It explores the history of makeup, fragrance, skin care, hair care, nail care, and personal care, while examining their continuing impact on society. Through its collections and educational projects, the museum aims to broaden how beauty history is documented and understood.

Its featured publication, Beauty Stories from Around the World, was created in partnership with L’Oréal USA and is offered as a digital download. The book presents cultural beauty rituals and themes through contributions from a diverse team of academics, anthropologists, and researchers from around the world. It combines historical and anthropological research with globally sourced images developed in partnership with Getty Images. The publication highlights perspectives often overlooked in traditional beauty histories, including the practices and narratives of Black, Indigenous, and other people of color. Customers receive a download link by email after placing an order.
