## Description

Mak Fai is a Seattle-based kung fu and lion dance organization rooted in the city’s Chinatown. Established in 1974 by Grandmaster Mak Hin Fai, the club specializes in Hung Sing Choy Lay Fut kung fu and Southern-style lion dancing. Its troupe performs hundreds of shows throughout the year, offering professional lion and dragon dance performances for events and other occasions.

The team also represents Seattle and Washington state in national and international lion dance competitions. Beyond performing, Mak Fai works to enrich and promote lion dancing in the Greater Seattle area, preserve the tradition, and pass it on to younger generations in the community. The organization offers traditional Chinese martial arts lessons for people of all ages; prospective students can contact the club for more information.

Based at 606 Maynard Avenue South in Seattle, Mak Fai welcomes event inquiries and booking requests. Its portfolio features performances and stories that reflect the team’s work in culture, community, and the celebration of Chinese traditions.
