Making Gay History is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that aims to bring LGBTQ+ history to life through intimate conversations with champions, heroes, and witnesses to history. By sharing the stories of those who have helped the LGBTQ+ community overcome obstacles and achieve equal rights, Making Gay History fosters connections, pride, and solidarity within the community. They provide an entry point for both allies and the general public to explore this hidden history. Led by founder and host Eric Marcus, along with a dedicated team, Making Gay History produces award-winning podcasts and educational initiatives that highlight the diverse voices and experiences within the LGBTQ+ community. Supported by various foundations and organizations, including the Jonathan Logan Family Foundation and Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS, Making Gay History strives to ensure that LGBTQ+ history is preserved, celebrated, and understood by all.
