## Description

MAKO is an Australian aviation technology company, formerly known as MicroTau, developing solutions to improve aircraft efficiency. Its flagship product, Flightfilm™, is a drag-reducing surface inspired by shark skin. Applied to an aircraft’s exterior, the surface is designed to improve aerodynamic efficiency and reduce fuel consumption without requiring structural modifications. MAKO says these gains can also lower emissions and support stronger mission capability.

The company is advancing Flightfilm for use across commercial airlines and defense, with the aim of delivering meaningful efficiency benefits for operators and the environment. MAKO has announced a partnership with Delta Airlines for commercial flight testing and has demonstrated installation on a retired Delta aircraft. It is also working to certify and scale the technology for broader delivery.

MAKO shares company news, product developments, customer stories, and insights through its website. In 2026, it announced a AU$28 million Series A funding round to support certification, scaling, and delivery of its aviation technology. The company is based in Sydenham, New South Wales, Australia.
