## Description

Whale Shark Research is a leading brand dedicated to the study and conservation of whale sharks in the Maldives and the greater Indian Ocean. As a research-based conservation charity, their mission is to advance the field of whale shark knowledge and promote sound conservation policies. What started as a scientific expedition in 2006 has now become the only long-term organization focused on studying this iconic yet vulnerable species. Through their research and outreach efforts, Whale Shark Research aims to safeguard the rich biodiversity and fragile marine ecosystems that not only support whale sharks but also life, livelihood, and culture in the Maldives. By encouraging community and industry stakeholder participation, Whale Shark Research leverages scientific research to drive conservation initiatives. Their work not only benefits the whale sharks themselves but also helps protect the diverse marine life and habitats that make the Maldives a truly special place. Visit their website to learn more about their research, volunteer opportunities, and how you can get involved in their efforts to protect these magnificent creatures.
