## Description

Mandala Community is a Wichita, Kansas-based organization founded in 2022 to support people with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD). Created by parents with firsthand experience navigating disability support, the community offers an empathetic, nurturing environment centered on each person’s individuality, dignity, values, and goals. Its services are designed to enrich daily living and encourage meaningful participation in the wider community.

Support is guided by person-centered plans and includes in-house PEERS curriculum-based social skills groups, where participation is voluntary and activities are tailored to individual interests and aspirations. Mandala also incorporates American Sign Language to support people who communicate nonverbally. A Licensed Master Social Worker leads clinical oversight with supervision from a licensed clinical social worker, while direct support professionals receive monthly training. The organization also collaborates with local mental health agencies and medical providers to help coordinate a well-rounded support network.

Located in Wichita’s Douglas Design District, Mandala Community welcomes referrals and offers informational sessions and tours. Donations help sustain its mission of serving and uplifting the community.
