## Description

The Mandela Rhodes Foundation is a Pan-African organisation that supports young Africans who aspire to lead with the character, integrity and commitment to service associated with Nelson Mandela’s legacy. Its work centres on a prestigious postgraduate scholarship combined with a Leadership Development Programme, offering scholars an opportunity for personal growth and preparation to contribute to Africa. The Foundation brings together emerging leaders from across the continent, fostering connections among people from diverse countries, disciplines and backgrounds. Its community includes more than 760 scholars across 38 countries and 36 disciplines, and continues to welcome new cohorts.

Beyond the scholarship, the Foundation supports its alumni through an ongoing network and initiatives including the Äänit Prize and the Shaun Johnson Memorial Scholarship. Its website provides information for prospective applicants, current scholars and alumni, alongside scholar stories, news, podcasts and updates on the Foundation’s impact. Guided by its values and principles, the Mandela Rhodes Foundation aims to find, fund and empower young Africans seeking to develop their leadership and use their talents in service of the continent.
